Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AA degree or 60 credit hours or ParaPro (preferred).
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Three years of experience with special needs children (preferred).
• Certification in Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention, CPR, and First Aid preferred.
• Special training in adaptive equipment may be required upon hire.
• Spanish language ability preferred.

Aufgaben

• Assists teacher with instructions, creation of classroom materials and classroom setup.
• Assist teacher in meeting individualized education plan (I.E.P.) goals.
• Assist and accompany student for inclusion in regular classroom.
• Aid student with personal hygiene, including diaper changes and toilet training.
• Assist students in using eating utensils and cafeteria behavior.
• Assist therapists with teaching as required.
• Provide a safe environment for special education students to learn.
• Work with students in various subjects or one-on-one/small group settings.
• Monitor and supervise students in classroom, playground and cafeteria; use behavior modification program as needed.
• Prepare instructional materials and visual aids; photocopy materials and documents.
• Prepare workstations or centers for daily lessons.
