Job summary

NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC seeks a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) for our Charlotte, NC office. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a track record in roadway and bridge construction.

Opportunity for growth and advancement is available. Responsibilities include performing field inspections, coordinating with contractors and NOVA staff, and preparing detailed daily field reports.

Qualifications

• SCDOT HMA Level 1 QC Technician certification required.
• 2+ years in construction inspection focusing on roadway field inspection and HMA lab testing.
• 3+ years in roadway and bridge construction preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SCDOT standards and procedures.

Job description

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) in our Charlotte, NC office. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Positions offer the opportunity for growth and advancement for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Perform field services for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, wood framing, structural steel and other special inspections, as applicable.
• Coordinate with contractors, and NOVA staff regarding execution of required services and result of testing and/or inspections, as applicable.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports

One or more of the following certifications is required:

• SCDOT Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Level 1 Quality Control (QC) Technician is required
• SCDOT in Asphalt Roadway Technician (ART), Earthworks, Concrete, etc. are plus
• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection with a focus on roadway field inspection and HMA quality assurance lab testing
• Highly desired with a minimum of 3 years of experience in roadway and bridge construction
• Strong knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures
