Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician) in our Charleston, SC office. This role requires a self-motivated professional with a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to field inspections.

You will perform field inspections of soils, pavements, concrete and related structures, coordinate with contractors and NOVA staff, and prepare detailed daily reports.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection with a focus on roadway field inspection and HMA quality assurance lab testing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in roadway and bridge construction.
• SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician (ART) is required.
• Strong knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures.

• Perform field inspections for soils, pavements, concrete, masonry, framing, and other inspections as applicable.
• Coordinate with contractors and NOVA staff regarding execution of required services and results of testing/inspections.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports.

• Perform field services for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, wood framing, structural steel and other special inspections, as applicable.
• Coordinate with contractors, and NOVA staff regarding execution of required services and result of testing and/or inspections, as applicable.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports

Requirements:

• SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician (ART) is required
• SCDOT Certifications in Concrete, Earthworks, Hot Mix Asphalt are a plus
• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection with a focus on roadway field inspection and HMA quality assurance lab testing
• Highlydesiredwithaminimumof3yearsofexperienceinroadwayandbridgeconstruction
• StrongknowledgeofSCDOTconstructionstandardsandprocedures
