Job summary

NOVA Engineering in Charleston, SC is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) to lead field inspection activities for soils, foundations, pavements, and structural components. You will coordinate with contractors and NOVA staff to ensure quality and compliance with SCDOT standards.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of roadway inspection experience, a minimum of 2 certifications, and a track record of detailed daily reports.

Qualifications

• SCDOT Earthwork, Concrete, Foundations, and/or Asphalt certification (minimum of 2) required
• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection focusing on roadway field inspection and HMA quality assurance lab testing
• 3+ years of experience in roadway and bridge construction preferred
• Strong knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures

Responsibilities

• Perform field services for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, wood framing, structural steel and other special inspections, as applicable.
• Coordinate with contractors, and NOVA staff regarding execution of required services and result of testing and/or inspections, as applicable.
