Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT) for our Charleston, SC office. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Positions offer the opportunity for growth and advancement for the successful candidate. The role focuses on field inspections for soils, foundations, pavements, reinforced concrete, structural masonry and related disciplines, with emphasis on compliance with SCDOT standards.

Qualifications

• SCDOT Earthwork, Concrete, Foundations and/or Asphalt certification (minimum 2)
• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection with roadway focus
• 3+ years of roadway and bridge construction experience highly desired
• Strong knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures

Responsibilities

• Perform field services for soils, foundations, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, wood framing, structural steel and other inspections.
• Coordinate with contractors and NOVA staff regarding execution of services and test/inspection results.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports

• 2+ years of experience in construction inspection with a focus on roadway field inspection and HMA quality assurance lab testing
• Highlydesiredwithaminimumof3yearsofexperienceinroadwayandbridgeconstruction
