A leading county is seeking a Senior Inspector to manage inspection operations and ensure compliance with construction regulations. The role involves mentoring the inspection team, conducting inspections, and addressing complaints. Candidates should have strong communication skills and a background in engineering or construction. This full-time position offers competitive benefits and requires a valid Texas driver's license.
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Chief Inspector, the Senior Inspector manages the daily operational flow of the team as well as inspects construction and pursues compliance regarding plans and specifications set by the rules and regulations of Harris County as administered by the Permit Group.
Job Duties:
Effectively manages and coordinates all private development inspections, complaints, and violations within Harris County. Mentor the inspection team. Develop and maintain bi-annual training to keep the inspection team abreast of new construction standards and best practices. Perform inspections, address complaints, and issue violations when needed. Assist the Chief Inspector with interviews. Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of the Team’s inspections, violations, and complaints. Assume the position of Chief Inspector when needed. Conduct disciplinary action when essential. Assists in disaster recovery efforts when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
Experience:A minimum (6) years of experience/background in engineering related design, construction, real property, or closely related field

Education:Bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering, Architecture or other closely related field.

Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work:
Full-Time | Regular | 40 hours per week.
Subject to early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays at times, depending upon the project or workload.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience, based on 26 pay periods.
