Job summary

EAC Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Inspector to lead field inspection assignments, supervise junior inspectors, and ensure quality control across bridge and roadway projects. The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to work independently or in a team, with a focus on safety and client satisfaction.

Minimum 4 years of construction inspection experience (2 years on bridges/roadways). A Civil Engineering degree may reduce experience requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years construction inspection experience, 2 years on bridge/roadway projects; 1 year if holding a Civil Engineering degree.
• FDOT CTQP certifications required within 12 months of hire.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to read drawings/maps.
• IMS A Traffic Signal Technician Level I, MOT, and Nuclear Radiation Safety certifications listed.

Salary Range: $61,000.00 To $73,000.00 Annually

Position: Sr. CEI Inspector (Senior)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform field inspection assignments and coordinate and supervise lower level inspectors.
• Conducts quality control material testing analysis and reporting.
• Conducts punch list identification and contract closeout review.
• Serves as an advisor and mentor to junior level project team members.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of four years of experience in construction inspection, two years of which shall have been in bridge or roadway construction inspection. One year of experience required if holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

EDUCATION:

• High School diploma or equivalent or Bachelors’ Degree in Civil Engineering and registered as an Engineering Intern (EI). Must also currently have or be willing to obtain the additional required certifications listed below, as a minimum, within twelve months of hire:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT’s) Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP)

• CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
• CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
• CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structures)

CERTIFICATIONS:

• International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signal Technician Level I
• FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
• Nuclear Radiation Safety

REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and system maps.
• Ability to understand and follow contractor schedules.
• Ability to carry 40 pounds (testing equipment).
• Ability to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions, periodic weekend and night work may be required.
• Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain.
• Ability to coordinate and supervise lower level inspectors in an efficient manner
