Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises seeks a Senior Maintenance Specialist (Mechanical) in Pearl Harbor, HI, to provide classroom and shipboard maintenance training and technical assistance on mechanical services, propulsion and auxiliary equipment repair, and habitability improvements on Surface ships within the Hawaii homeport.

The role requires an DoD Secret clearance, an Associate’s degree or 12+ years of related experience, and strong leadership in supervising skilled technicians and Navy 3-M

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate’s degree in appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university and at least 12 years of related experience; in lieu of a degree at least 2 additional years of technical experience will suffice.
• Must have Inside Machinist experience, and can provide both classroom and shipboard practical maintenance training and technical assistance on machining, fabricating, and refurbishing newly designed and replacement shipboard components on all classes of Surface ships
• Must have at least 4 years’ of experience directing or supervising a workforce of skilled technical personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance functions.
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system.
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience with shipboard propulsion plants or auxiliary machinery equipment and/or nuclear-powered propulsion plants maintenance and repair

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for assessment, fault isolation, repair, and final adjustment of systems onboard ship.
• Supervises others and manages one or more multiple jobs; interfaces with customers and manages subcontractors.
• Performs a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks.
• Develops and uses technical documents including work packages, procedures, test documents and reports; briefs customers and senior management.
• Performs duties outside of specialty to complete install or work assignments
