Job summary

ORBIS Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician (Mechanical) to support maintenance and planning for overhaul and repair of equipment on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and surface ships. The role involves on-board work on Navy vessels based in San Diego, CA, with a salary range of $85–$105K.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in naval mechanical systems, leadership of skilled technicians, and Navy 3-M and supply administration, with degree substitution options.

Qualifications

• Twelve years of experience in operations, repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment on U.S. Navy ships.
• Four years directing or supervising a workforce of skilled technical personnel.
• Five years experience in administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system.
• Five years experience with shipboard propulsion plants or auxiliary machinery or nuclear propulsion maintenance.
• An Associate Degree may substitute for up to two years of technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance and planning for overhaul and repair of equipment and systems for U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and surface ships.
• Find, fix, and train Ship's Force equipment operators and maintenance technicians to enable maintenance during deployments.

Job description

Job Description: * The Senior Engineering Technician (Mechanical) will support maintenance and planning for the overhaul and repair of equipment and systems associated with U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers (CVN) and U.S. Navy Surface Ships.

• Work will be performed on board US Naval vessels located in San Diego, CA.
• The salary for this position is salary range $85 - $105K
• The support will include providing aircraft carriers and the surface fleet a team of experts in Navy systems/equipment maintenance, for both preventive and equipment maintenance training.
• The Senior Engineering Technician (Mechanical) will "Find, Fix, and Train" Ship's Force equipment operators and maintenance technicians, with the goal of enabling sailors to maintain and repair equipment during their operational deployments.
• Required Skills and Experience: a. Twelve (12) years experience in the operations, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems of U.S. Naval ships is required, including:
  b. Four (4) years of experience directing or supervising a work force of skilled technical personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance functions.
  c. Five (5) years experience in administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system.
  d. Five (5) years experience with shipboard propulsion plants or auxiliary machinery equipment and/or nuclear-powered propulsion plants maintenance and repair.
  e. An Associate Degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to two (2) years of technician experience.
