Job summary
Brooks Running in Seattle is seeking a Senior Footwear Designer, Inline, to lead the design of complex performance footwear within inline product lines. You will create upper, midsole, and outsole sketches and collaborate with Color, Material & Trend teams to shape seasonal beauty and brand direction.
The role requires 7+ years in color/material/textile programs, strong 2D/3D CAD skills (Rhino, Blender, Substance, SolidWorks), and leadership to mentor designers.
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree in industrial, graphics, apparel, or footwear design or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in color/material/textile programs within retail/manufacturing.
- 2D and 3D CAD experience with complex surfaces (Rhino, Blender).
- Strong art/design knowledge and ability to lead vision/strategy.
Responsibilities
- Own full design of complex performance footwear, creating upper/midsole/outsole sketches.
- Develop identity principles to boost perceived value and aesthetics.
- Lead and mentor junior designers; respond to critique with options.
- Collaborate with Color, Material & Trend teams on seasonal beauty and storytelling.
- Influence 3D CAD tools usage and prototype with handmade models where needed.
- Deliver design presentations and manage timelines with cross‑functional teams.
