Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Equipment Engineer for Injection Molding in our materials engineering group.

You will own end‑to‑end equipment improvement projects, lead technicians through troubleshooting of molding machines and peripherals, and drive root-cause analyses to ensure rapid, robust uptime in Starlink production environments. The role requires a bachelor’s in mechanical/related field and 5+ years designing complex components, with hands‑on experience in 3D CAD and plastic processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, materials engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with mechanical design of complex components and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Own equipment improvement projects from concept through design and implementation.
• Lead technicians to troubleshoot and resolve injection molding machine and peripheral equipment failures.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment, process, and behavioral gaps.
• Develop and execute complex projects to maximize production equipment availability and OEE.
• Coordinate with reliability, tool, and automation teams to implement machine upgrades.
