Job description

Description

Keeper Security is hiring a Senior Software Development Test Engineer (SDET), DevOps to design and automate testing for the infrastructure, deployment pipelines and cloud environments that support Keeper’s products. This is a 100% remote position, with an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule for candidates based in the El Dorado Hills, CA or Chicago, IL metro areas.

About Keeper

Keeper’s cybersecurity software is trusted by millions of people and thousands of organizations globally. Keeper is published in 23 languages and sold in over 150 countries. Join one of the fastest-growing cybersecurity companies and help ensure the reliability, security and compliance of the infrastructure and automation that power Keeper’s cloud services.

About the Role

As a Senior SDET focused on DevOps and infrastructure, you will build automated test frameworks and validation workflows for AWS environments, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments. This is not a traditional manual QA role. You will apply software engineering and automation practices to verify that infrastructure changes are functional, secure, repeatable and compliant before they reach production. You will work closely with DevOps, Platform Engineering, Security and Compliance teams to test infrastructure changes, identify configuration and deployment defects, improve release confidence and strengthen automated validation across Keeper’s cloud environments.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build and maintain automated test frameworks for AWS infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code and deployment workflows
  • Validate infrastructure changes across VPCs, subnets, routing, NAT gateways, IAM, security groups, load balancers and related AWS services
  • Develop automated tests for Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible or similar infrastructure-as-code implementations
  • Build validation into CI/CD pipelines to identify infrastructure, configuration and deployment issues before production release
  • Test containerized and Kubernetes-based environments for functionality, resilience, configuration and security
  • Validate infrastructure hardening and security controls against applicable STIG, CIS and compliance requirements
  • Develop automated integration, regression, smoke, performance and failure-recovery tests for platform and infrastructure changes
  • Verify that Keeper applications and services continue to operate correctly as underlying infrastructure and deployment configurations change
  • Analyze logs, metrics and telemetry to troubleshoot failures and produce clear, reproducible defect reports
  • Partner with DevOps and Platform engineers to identify test gaps, improve infrastructure testability and automate repetitive validation workflows
  • Support audit readiness and compliance validation by producing repeatable test results and technical evidence
  • Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot or similar platforms to improve test development, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation and workflow efficiency
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as an SDET, Software Engineer in Test, Infrastructure Test Engineer or similarly automation-focused engineering role
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, NAT gateways, security groups and IAM
  • Strong experience testing or validating infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible or similar technologies
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, Go or another language used for test automation and infrastructure validation
  • Experience building automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure testing, configuration validation, integration testing and failure-recovery scenarios
  • Experience troubleshooting cloud and infrastructure issues using logs, metrics and observability platforms such as Datadog
  • Familiarity with security hardening and compliance requirements such as CIS benchmarks, DISA STIGs, FedRAMP, SOC 2 or ISO 27001
  • Strong understanding of Git-based development workflows and automated software delivery practices
  • Ability to work closely with DevOps, Platform Engineering, Security and Compliance teams to diagnose complex technical issues
  • Ability and willingness to use AI-assisted tools effectively to improve test automation, debugging, technical analysis and documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience validating infrastructure in FedRAMP High, DoD, IL5 or similarly regulated cloud environments
  • Experience with automated infrastructure testing frameworks such as Terratest, pytest or similar tools
  • Experience testing Kubernetes infrastructure, container security or deployment resilience
  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning, compliance drift detection or SIEM integrations
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud and/or Azure Government
  • Familiarity with secrets management, IAM, PAM or zero-trust security architectures
  • Benefits

    • Employer Paid Life Insurance & Employee/Spouse/Child Supplemental life
    • Voluntary Short/Long Term Disability Insurance
    • 401K (Roth/Traditional)
