Job summary

Headway is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Infrastructure team within Engineering Foundations. You will own cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, LLM infrastructure, and the data layer, ensuring high reliability and scalable performance across the organization.

You will guide a high-performance team, drive self-serve capabilities, and partner with Security and product engineering to align on production readiness and risk management.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager leading infrastructure or platform teams.
• 5+ years as Software or Infrastructure Engineer with depth to lead design reviews and incident response.
• Experience bridging platform teams with product engineering with clear ownership and self-serve tooling.
• Ability to manage competing demands: support queue, strategic roadmap, on-call rotation, and external dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Infrastructure team as part of Engineering Foundations.
• Own the infrastructure platform including cloud, deployment pipelines, LLM infrastructure, data layer, and observability.
• Shift the team toward self-serve infrastructure and focus on strategic platform work.
• Contain incidents via architectural and deployment validation and reduce blast radius.
• Define production readiness for AI workloads and co-own container security and secrets management with Security.
