Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Management and Funding Consultant to lead strategic projects for local governments and utilities, focusing on funding strategies, financial analysis, and infrastructure planning. The role is client-facing and requires travel up to 25% with senior leadership responsibilities.

You will mentor staff, drive business development, and ensure high-quality, on-time delivery while navigating procurement and governance processes across California and the Western U.S.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in consulting and/or public-sector with water resources and infrastructure focus.
• Direct work with public agencies; budgeting, governance, and procurement familiarity.
• Proven grant writing and management; knowledge of federal/state funding programs.
• Strong analytical abilities; proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word; data tools a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver funding, financial, organizational, and technology consulting to public agencies and utilities.
• Lead elements of the North America Funding Program; develop funding frameworks.
• Prepare and review complex models, business cases, grants and loan applications.
• Mentor and manage junior staff; ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Manage engagements and navigate procurement, public meetings, and interagency coordination.
• Grow client relationships; drive business development (RFQs/RFPs, interviews).
