Job summary

Commerce seeks an experienced Lead Software Engineer- Infrastructure to join our remote-first, hybrid team. You will design and maintain the foundational tech stack powering Commerce stores, collaborating with distributed teams to deliver reliable, scalable services.

You will work with Golang, Ruby, Scala, Terraform, and Puppet, leading initiatives, mentoring peers, and driving efficiency across the DevOps lifecycle in a globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an Infrastructure or Software Engineer.
• Proficiency with Puppet, Chef, or Ansible; Puppet used here.
• Strong Linux administration background with scripting (Ruby, Bash).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Development Environment of BigCommerce-related services.
• Manage cloud-hosted VMs in Google Cloud Platform.
• Automate repetitive manual processes and document architectures.
