Job summary

Atom Computing is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to enhance our software development workflows and maintain the critical infrastructure for our quantum computer.

The role combines on-premises and cloud systems in a Boulder office setting, requiring in-person collaboration at least 3 days per week. You’ll shape deployment pipelines, monitoring, and performance tuning for reliable operation.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• 5+ years of post-degree professional experience maintaining large scale distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain a fleet of on-premise Linux servers (and a few Windows VMs) to ensure reliable and performant operation of the quantum computing environment.
• Design and implement automated workflows for managing and scaling cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Build and optimize monitoring, alerting, and performance metrics systems to support both development and production environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and improve deployment efficiency.
