Job summary

Toast is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on the Compute & Storage Platform to design, build, and operate foundational distributed systems enabling Toast as we scale internationally. You’ll bridge core infra with product development, crafting low-latency storage, scalable compute clusters, and high-throughput data pipelines to support our PDLC.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building scalable AWS infrastructure with IaC.
• Fluent in Python or Go for automation and tooling.
• Deep experience operating relational databases (Postgres/MySQL) and non-relational databases (DynamoDB/OpenSearch).
• Containerization with Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage low-latency storage solutions (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, S3).
• Ensure sub-second latency, near-zero downtime, and high throughput across storage engines.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and compute pipelines for PDLC.
• Right-size compute/storage resources and manage AWS costs without sacrificing latency SLAs.
