Job summary

GlobalPoint in Richmond, VA is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance a hybrid infrastructure environment. The role covers Windows Server, cloud platforms, security, patching, automation, and production application support in mission‑critical systems.

The engineer will work across Java, .NET, Oracle, SQL, Dynamics, and warehouse technologies while applying deep networking knowledge and OSI concepts to diagnose issues and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience administering Windows Server in on-prem and cloud environments.
• Hands-on upgrades, migrations, remediation and troubleshooting of mission-critical systems.
• Proficient in PowerShell and automation for repetitive tasks.
• Experience migrating workloads from on-prem to cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of OSI layers and networking protocols.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments across on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Perform OS upgrades, patching, testing, and system updates for reliability and security.
• Lead server migrations from on-premises to cloud platforms.
• Develop and use automation tools to execute centralized tasks.
• Provide advanced server-level support for enterprise applications (.NET, Java, SQL, Oracle, Dynamics).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for deployments and infrastructure enhancements.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly in English.
