Job summary

Sift is seeking an infrastructure-focused engineer to design, build, and scale our data infrastructure for mission-critical systems. You will work across cloud and on-prem deployments, enhancing performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency while owning major initiatives.

You will collaborate with a broad set of engineers and stakeholders, shaping the roadmap and driving platform engineering efforts with Go, Java, TypeScript, and the represented tech stack.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in distributed systems focusing on cloud environments.
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Experience with Go/Java/TypeScript stack and modern data/infra tooling.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to thrive in early-stage startups.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud deployments and on-premise support.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure for our growing platform.
• Collaborate with software engineers to optimize performance and reliability.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging for proactive issue resolution.
• Automate deployments and streamline infrastructure management.
• Evolve backend architecture for cloud and on-prem deployments.
• Help set roadmap to maximize customer impact.
• Lead reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency initiatives.
