Job summary

Google’s Core team at San Jose develops foundational infrastructure and platforms powering billions of users. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will drive large-scale distributed systems across compute, storage, and networking areas, while mentoring teammates and delivering impactful software products.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners, contribute to model serving infrastructure, and help optimize cost and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Work with a team of dedicated and talented software engineers on critical aspects of the Semantic Understanding Platform (SUP).
• Develop infrastructure and tools for ML model serving, ML model management, cost transparency and optimization.
• Collaborate with SU team partners and customers to continuously improve the quality of SU platform and service.
