**THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD**

JOB SUMMARY: MCSG is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to provide support to the US Space Force by managing configuration, lifecycle maintenance, and inventory control of ATLAS-related IT infrastructure at Vandenberg SFB. This role ensures the health and performance of systems through documentation, monitoring, and coordination with platform and application teams. Responsibilities include implementing tech refreshes, maintaining operational dashboards, managing ADPE spares and replacements, supporting infrastructure components (e.g., firewalls, VMs, storage arrays), and ensuring accurate documentation and continuity planning. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (0800-1600) with occasional on-call support as needed.Location: This position is on-site at Vandenberg SFB, CA.

PRIMARY DUTIES: Responsible for coordinating platform, data, and application teams for updates to monitoring / operational dashboards as needed to support the team’s ability to efficiently run through troubleshooting procedures. This includes:

  • Document infrastructure configurations and execute workflows to inform and track Tier 2 support regarding a failure mode or degradation of platform, network, or infrastructure services. Contact Tier 2 to identify the source of the failure.
  • Develop and update the technology roadmap providing direction and definition of the IT infrastructure architecture to effectively and efficiently support the business strategy and mission critical functions.
  • Coordinate with other teams on the implementation of their supporting devices, systems, and applications to ensure the infrastructure remains healthy.
  • Document all changes to the environment, update associated diagrams, update associated accreditation documentation, and coordinate the associated integration of these technologies into continuity of operations plans. Monthly.
  • Develop and maintain inventory management plans for disposition of end-of-life Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE).
  • Provide support to all infrastructure items, including but not limited to firewalls, switches, Linux and Windows VMs, Cloud/Blade server configurations, Desktop Support Storage Arrays, Edge Devices, Last Mile connectivity to client’s environments, User Equipment and access points and manage external data feeds to client’s Space C2 environments.
  • Recommend to application developers for modifications in support of added functionality, data/networks, and/or systems.
  • Prepare and/or edit technical documents and workflow diagrams, as needed.
  • Monitor system performance, gather metrics on infrastructure and platform issues for monthly system reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10 years of experience working in an IT environment
  • 5 years of experience in an Enterprise Engineering or Architect role monitoring network architecture and/or systems.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in several of the following methodologies, tools, or applications:
    • Cloud Computing
    • Data/Data warehouse
    • Web Applications
    • Information Protection
    • Disaster Recovery
    • Business Continuity
    • Network architecture (LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPN, traffic encryption/inspection)
    • Full suite of Microsoft products
    • Windows/Linux hardened systems design and configurations
    • Infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, File/Print, Storage)
    • Virtualization (VMWare)
  • Expert analytic, organization, presentation, customer service and facilitation skills.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of experience working in an IT environment
  • 5 years of experience in an Enterprise Engineering or Architect role monitoring network architecture and/or systems.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or similar field. Preferred certifications include Network+, GSEC, or Security+ CE.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI clearance
