Job summary

LaunchDarkly Group is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the IDE team. You will help build, automate, and improve systems that keep LaunchDarkly running at scale across a global AWS footprint.

You will own the infrastructure layer, write software to replace manual processes, and contribute to a culture where operational toil is treated as a bug to be fixed. This role involves an on-call rotation and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Familiarity with AWS and Datadog for observability.
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
• Ability to write code to automate and improve systems, not just configuration.
• Strong focus on code quality, testing, and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operational workflows.
• Build and improve internal tools and platforms to boost engineer productivity.
• Manage and evolve AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and turn incident patterns into permanent fixes.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to understand infrastructure needs and reduce friction.
• Identify repetitive operational work and replace it with software.
