Job Description

As a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer with The Redesign Group, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and implementation of solutions for customers across diverse environments. You will lead and execute technology deployments, perform complex troubleshooting, and provide expert‑level consulting and support.

This position requires a consultative, customer‑facing engineer who can translate business requirements into technical solutions, execute deployments with precision, and ensure successful project outcomes. You will work closely with project managers, solution architects, and customer stakeholders, while maintaining the ability to work independently in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments.

This role will be largely remote, but may require some travel to customer sites for onsite deployments, hardware installations, and project support.

Required Skills
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a professional services, delivery services, MSP, VAR, systems integrator, or enterprise IT environment.
  • Extensive experience deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting Windows Server environments, including Microsoft Active Directory, domain controllers, FSMO roles, DNS integration, domain trusts, replication, and authentication‑related services.
  • Experience planning, executing, and supporting migrations of on‑premises infrastructure and Microsoft services to cloud and hybrid environments, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online).
  • Experience designing and implementing full‑stack infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and networking devices, with a strong understanding of high availability.
  • Strong experience with compute and virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper‑V systems supporting business‑critical workloads.
  • Hands‑on experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting VDI solutions using VMware Horizon/Omnissa and/or Citrix.
  • Strong server and storage fundamentals, with experience installing, configuring, optimizing, and supporting small to large physical and virtual environments across block, file, and hyper‑converged storage platforms.
  • Solid understanding of core networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, and VPN technologies, with the ability to troubleshoot network‑related authentication and performance issues.
  • Ability to recommend and implement practical, scalable, and automated infrastructure solutions for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess technical scenarios and determine effective courses of action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with professional consultative and customer‑facing presence.
  • Willingness to work outside standard business hours for scheduled project cutovers, migrations, or critical deployment activities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
Desired Skills
  • Experience supporting hyper‑converged infrastructure platforms such as VxRail, Nutanix, Microsoft Hyper‑V, or similar solutions.
  • Knowledge of backup and storage technologies including Dell EMC systems, PowerStore, Unity, IDPA, Data Domain, Avamar, Veeam, VMware vSAN, NetApp, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience producing and maintaining technical documentation such as network diagrams, site surveys, and audit reports.
  • Familiarity with environments governed by regulatory and compliance standards such as TPN, CDSA, PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience performing physical installation of rack‑mounted servers, networking equipment, and cable management.
  • Scripting experience in relevant languages such as Python, PowerShell, Perl, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with configuration management and infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Ansible, SCCM/MECM, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
