We are currently looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our NRA (Network Reference Architecture) Design & Engieering team in the Technology Operations platform.

We Offer:

Being part of a dynamic, and impactful team, you, as Senior Infrastructure Engineer, will be a member of the NRA (Network Reference Architecture) team, operating and improving Maersk’s secure OT infrastructure platform at terminals.

In this role, you will be actively delivering a best-in-class on-premise engineering capability for the products and platforms at Maersk. Engineers act as a trusted advisor with hands-on keyboard execution, helping the products team succeed by ensuring guardrails, governance, and security standards are adhered to. Engineers bring the necessary expertise on how to engineer for non-functional requirements (NFR) and infrastructure in the datacenters that makes the right way to deliver products the easy way. Engineers excel at providing robust, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure from the datacenters.

You will be primarily involved in managing and improving our compute capabilities, with special focus on virtualisation technologies and hyper converged infrastructure. Additionally, you will assist in developing infrastructure tooling & automation capabilities and observability capabilities for our on-premise infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assess all new initiatives that may impact the compute and virtualization components, plan for necessary changes or modifications to accommodate these initiatives, and document them for future reference.

• Evaluate and forecast any upcoming changes (such as firmware updates or additional features) for the compute and virtualisation components and analyze their potential impact on the entire environment.
• Provide Level 3 assistance to operations teams in handling complex incidents. Participates in problem management and manage root cause analysis. Create improvement plans based on the identified problems.

• Follows organisational architectures and standards - ensuring High Availability, Fault Tolerance and Zero resource contention.
• Discover the current hardware infrastructure & architecture, and derive compute & storage requirements from it.
• Designs the tests to measure the performance of prototypes and production output against specification and inform iterative development.
• Design & Implement Disaster Recovery solution with near zero RPO and RTO and Enterprise backup solution with offsite copies (enabling rollback and compliance).
• Establish and Use modern infrastructure automation platforms for hybrid cloud environments for performance, availability and infrastructure usage metrics.

We are looking for

• A total of 8+ years of industry experience with 5+ years of experience in designing and/or developing and delivering end to end infrastructure products/solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of virtualization concepts with primary focus on VMware technologies such as vCenter, vSphere, ESXi and vRealize.
• Advanced knowledge of hyper converged infrastructure, with primary focus on Cisco UCS and Hyperflex.
• Expertise in storage technologies across storage tiers such as SAN, NAS, Backup, Archive with hands-on experience in RAID, tiering, redundancy, fabric, et with knowledge of data management platforms with experience in Commvault.

• Understanding the concepts of Software Defined Network technologies such as VMware NSX and VMware Avi Load Balancer is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with Compute technologies in cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments. Advanced understanding of concepts such as Processors, Hyperthreading, multicores, etc. with hand-on experience in Cloud Computing technologies such as AWS and Azure as well as with Windows Server.
• Familiarity with network management and technologies such as DHCP, DNS, NTP, routing protocols, subnetting, internetworking, etc.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure management, automation tools, and a strong understanding of security best practices to streamline our development and deployment processes.
• Familiar with Infrastructure as a Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Ability to articulate the agile principles and values and has practical experience of an agile method, e.g. Scrum or Kanban.
• Basic Requirements Identification/Engineering and Modelling ability to actively listen to internal/external customers, articulate and clarify their needs.
