Job summary

CMK Resources, Inc. in Flint, MI is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a small, highly collaborative team. The role spans networking, Azure, security, Active Directory, and virtualization, with hands-on work across the infrastructure stack.

You will support, improve, and secure the organization’s infrastructure, manage on-call rotations, and collaborate with vendors. A strong background in Windows Server and AD is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on network and infrastructure experience.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, and enterprise networking.
• Hyper-V experience preferred; other virtualization accepted.
• Experience with Azure, Active Directory, and Windows Server.
• Experience with infrastructure security and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Support and administer enterprise network, server, cloud, security, and infrastructure environments
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP
• Administer Active Directory and Group Policy
• Support and improve Azure and hybrid cloud environment, including disaster recovery
• Manage and support virtualized server environments
• Monitor network and infrastructure performance and troubleshoot issues across systems
• Support infrastructure security tools and implement security improvements
• Work with third-party vendors on infrastructure, network, hardware, and security projects
• Maintain technical documentation, configurations, diagrams, and procedures
• Support backup, replication, disaster recovery, and failover processes
• Provide technical guidance within the infrastructure team
• Assist with end-user and help desk issues as part of a small IT team
• Participate in after-hours implementations, updates, and critical incident response

CMK Resources is looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a small, highly collaborative infrastructure team in Flint, Michigan.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working across networking, Azure, security, Active Directory, virtualization, and infrastructure support rather than being limited to one specialty. You will play an important role in supporting, improving, and securing the organization's infrastructure environment.

Location: Flint, MI

On-Call Rotation: 24/7 emergency support rotation

Responsibilities

• Support and administer enterprise network, server, cloud, security, and infrastructure environments
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP
• Administer Active Directory and Group Policy
• Support and improve the organization's Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environment, including disaster recovery
• Manage and support virtualized server environments
• Monitor network and infrastructure performance and troubleshoot issues across systems
• Support infrastructure security tools and implement recommended security improvements
• Work with third-party vendors on infrastructure, network, hardware, and security projects
• Support firewall, switch, server, storage, and other infrastructure upgrades
• Assist with server and workstation refreshes and other hands-on infrastructure work
• Maintain technical documentation, configurations, diagrams, and procedures
• Support backup, replication, disaster recovery, and failover processes
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing within the infrastructure team
• Assist with end-user and help desk issues when needed as part of a small IT team
• Participate in after-hours implementations, updates, and critical incident response

Required Experience

• Ideally 10+ years of hands-on network and infrastructure experience
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, and enterprise networking
• Hands-on firewall administration experience - Fortinet experience is highly preferred or strong Cisco or comparable firewall experience will also be considered
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
• Strong understanding of Windows Server environments
• Experience supporting virtualized infrastructure - Hyper-V experience is preferred, however comparable enterprise virtualization experience will be considered
• Experience with infrastructure security, access controls, endpoint security, and security remediation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working across multiple areas of infrastructure and taking ownership of issues through resolution
• Experience working with and managing technology vendors
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical users
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered
