  • - Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code to reduce manual effort, improve consistency and make the estate easier to run.
  • - Build security into designs and solutions from the outset, working with our security teams to meet policy and compliance requirements.
  • - Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • - Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, standards and runbooks.
  • - Take part in the team’s on-call and out-of-hours support arrangements where required.

  • - Strong proficiency in both Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
  • - Substantial hands-on experience designing, operating and troubleshooting large VMware estates or alternate virtualization platforms.
  • - Experience with automation and DevOps tooling (e.g. Ansible, Python, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines), with a track record of automating real operational work.
  • - Sound knowledge of IT security principles and practices, and the ability to build security into designs and solutions.
  • - Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset, with the ability to diagnose complex issues under pressure.
  • - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • - Experience delivering projects, with working knowledge of Agile or other delivery methodologies.
