Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer – Infrared Sensor Payloads to provide technical leadership for space-based infrared sensing payloads. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline; 14+ years of experience typical.
• Strong systems engineering background with requirements development and verification.
• Experience with EO/IR sensor systems or similar remote-sensing systems.
• Experience leading complex technical activities across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the program's infrared sensor payload engineering interface and technical authority.
• Oversee payload supplier activities across the development lifecycle; conduct design reviews and testing.
• Define and verify mission-level and payload-level requirements for missile warning and tracking.
• Model and analyze end-to-end sensor-to-track performance; oversight of algorithms and data fusion.
