Job summary

Lightning AI is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. You will build production software and automation that support infrastructure throughout its lifecycle, from provisioning to decommissioning, interfacing with thousands of servers and high-performance networks.

This role is based in one of our hubs (NYC, SF, Seattle, or London), with a minimum of 2 in-office days per week, collaborating with Networking, Data Center Operations, and

Qualifications

• 8+ years professional software or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong Python and backend systems experience.
• Linux production environment expertise.
• Experience building scalable APIs and automation.
• Familiarity with HPC or bare-metal infrastructure terms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production services, APIs, tooling, and automation for large-scale infrastructure.
• Extend systems for provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Develop automation to reduce manual operations and improve reliability and scalability.
• Create interfaces for programmatic interaction with physical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and architecture.
