Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior Staff Infrastructure Engineer to modernize Oracle Exadata platforms and drive automation across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will lead design, resiliency, and migrations while mentoring engineers and applying AI thoughtfully to production outcomes.

The role requires deep Oracle expertise, strong IaC experience (Terraform/OpenTofu, Ansible, CloudFormation), and hands‑on AWS work. Hybrid work schedule with office three days a week in multiple locations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure engineering, database platform engineering, cloud engineering, or related enterprise technology experience.
• Deep expertise with Oracle Database and Exadata, including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, PL/SQL, performance tuning, backup and recovery, resiliency, and capacity management.
• Hands‑on experience designing or operating infrastructure in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Platform Engineering Design, build, and operate secure, highly available Oracle database platforms across Exadata and Oracle RDS.
• Engineer resiliency using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, SharePlex, backup and recovery capabilities, and Exadata platform features.
• Lead capacity planning, performance and cost optimization, migrations, upgrades, consolidations, and cloud transitions.
