Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Configuration Management team and shape the future of enterprise infrastructure automation, across compute, storage, networking, data centers, and cloud in hybrid environments.

You’ll drive multi-year technical direction, push architectural improvements, and translate business challenges into strategic roadmaps while mentoring engineers and delivering scalable platforms.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar domain.
• Deep knowledge of enterprise configuration management or infrastructure automation.
• Go, Python, Java, APIs, concurrency, distributed systems, testing, debugging, performance engineering.
• Linux, Kubernetes, containers, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code.
• Enterprise data and automation pipelines using Databricks or similar platforms.
• Experience defining and evolving large-scale infrastructure architecture across teams.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year technical vision and architecture for IT infrastructure automation and configuration management.
• Set technical direction across platforms like Ansible, AWX, Salt, or equivalents.
• Apply AI to configuration management including drift, compliance, and remediation.
• Remain hands-on by building prototypes and reviewing critical code.
• Build secure, scalable integrations across CMDB, observability, and data systems.
• Lead architecture discussions and drive adoption in large environments.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers, raise engineering standards.
