Job summary

RTX in Aurora, CO is seeking a systems engineer to apply OT, production, and test system engineering principles ensuring end-to-end integration and validation of complex hardware and software. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD security clearance.

You will collaborate with Digital Technologies and Cybersecurity teams to maintain test integrity, implement cybersecurity controls, and support secure TE operations across Windows and Linux environments.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience administering enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • U.S. Citizen with current DoD Government issued security clearance (Secret or Top Secret)

Responsibilities

  • Apply systems engineering principles within Operational Technology (OT), production, and test environments to ensure end-to-end system integration, verification, and validation.
  • Provide Cybersecurity compliance guidance to engineering for production and procurement of TE Support Flight Test capabilities and processes for Raytheon test systems.
  • Develop Cybersecurity compliant TE (Linux, IOS, Windows) Install software packages/updates to enhance operations and testing of production hardware.

What You Will Do
  • Apply systems engineering principles within Operational Technology (OT), production, and test environments to ensure end-to-end system integration, verification, and validation, supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of complex technical systems
  • Provide Cybersecurity compliance guidance to engineering for production and procurement of TE Support Flight Test capabilities and processes for Raytheon test systems
  • Develop Cybersecurity compliant TE (Linux, IOS, Windows) Install software packages/updates to enhance operations and testing of production hardware
  • Troubleshoot production and development TE to ensure connectivity, functionality, compliance, and test integrity
  • Collaborate with Digital Technologies to integrate TE to controlled networks or enterprises
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity to ensure TE compliance (using tools such as Nessus, Splunk, Ivanti, and locally procured software
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure changes do not affect the availability or test integrity on the TE Support any and all reviews required prior for implementation of any changes to the TE.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • A bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience OR an advance degree in a related field and a minimum 3 years' experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience administering enterprise IT infrastructure
  • Experience managing Windows and/or Linux server environments
  • Experience supporting networked systems, enterprise applications, and user access management
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, operating system, and network issues
  • Experience with Active Directory / LDAP, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, KVM), Storage systems (SAN, NAS), TCP/IP fundamentals and VLAN and routing basics
  • U.S. Citizen with current DoD Government issued security clearance (Secret or Top Secret)
Program Access
  • Experience working in secure or regulated environments (e.g., government, defense, healthcare, finance) including SAP
Certifications
  • DoD 8570.01m IAT II certified credentials (Sec+, CISM, etc.) or obtain within 6 months of hiring.
Systems Engineering
  • Experience working as a System Engineer with an understanding of managing Operational Technology and/or test systems in a production environment
Security & Hardening Practices
  • Experience with backup/recovery procedures, baseline hardening such as CIS benchmarks, STIGs, and vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, OpenSCAP
OS & Systems Administration
  • Experience with Windows and Linux (desktop and server), including networking administration and user/permissions management such as AD integration, sudo, SELinux/AppArmor basics

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
