Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Systems Engineer for an onsite role in Fort Wayne, Indiana. U.S. citizenship and active SECRET clearance are required to start. You will contribute to test, integration, and verification activities and support lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to validation.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will help design, analyze, and document system requirements and ensure alignment across software, hardware, and firmware domains.

What You Will Do
  • Participate in development of test & integration plans and procedures and generation of test flow diagrams
  • Participate in onsite integration, verification, and validation tasks and activities
  • Support setup of onsite test environments, laboratory facilities, and equipment
  • Support system trade studies, requirements analysis, architecture, and allocation to subsystems
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Manage problems and issues requiring detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation
  • Support the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
  • Work autonomously with limited oversight from manager
  • Coach and review work to lower-level professionals
  • Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
  • Manage small projects or processes
  • Manage preparation and execution of program design reviews
  • Review and document moderate changes in systems or processes to solve difficult and often complex problems
  • Communicate with team members within and outside of department or organization

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Experience in developing and writing test and integration plans and documents
  • Participation in medium-scale test and integration activities
  • Experience in supporting a team in requirements development and system architecture
  • Knowledge of requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, DNG)
  • Knowledge of modeling/simulation tools (e.g., Matlab)
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering support for Software, Hardware, and Firmware development and collaboration
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 10 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance is required to work in our organization
  • Active and transferable SECRET clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Familiarity with production and manufacturing
  • Familiarity with qualification processes and certification procedures
  • Knowledge of or application of Earned Value Management System
  • Familiarity of Model-Based Systems Engineering (e.g., SysML, Cameo, Rhapsody)
  • Proficiency in tooling to include Microsoft products or tasking boards (e.g., Jira)
  • Agile working environment experience
  • Proposal support experience including writing Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
  • Experience in Communication Radio and Systems including SATCOM, LOS/BLOS antennas, and waveforms
  • Experience with Active Electronic Scanning Array (AESA) systems
Position Type

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Location

This role is a U.S.-based role.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply. RTX anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
