Job description

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Information Research Specialist in the Washington, DC office of a leading global consulting firm. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and visionary thinker to join a dynamic information resources team at a well-established and expanding organization, with a flexible hybrid working environment.

Description and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director of Global Information Resources, the Senior Information Research Specialist will be responsible for:

  1. Collaborating with global consulting staff on research projects using information tools and proprietary databases to support client projects and business development.
  2. Providing quick solutions, in-depth research, current awareness services, competitive intelligence, and special research to support NERA’s consulting staff.
  3. Working with information resources team members across regions to build a global research function through sharing work and experience.
  4. Educating consulting staff on research issues and training them on end-user products.
  5. Assisting in marketing and developing information services for NERA staff globally.
  6. Participating in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in information/library science from an accredited program or a Master’s degree (MBA) in business or economics; an undergraduate degree in economics or finance is advantageous.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a corporate or legal research environment providing business and financial information.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience conducting legal research using tools such as PACER, Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, with a strong understanding of the US Legal System.
  • Knowledge and experience with database services like Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, FactSet, LSEG Data & Analytics.
  • Experience searching academic, literature, and news databases such as Factiva, EconLit, Proquest, Business Source Corporate, Heinonline.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Securities Finance industry is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • The candidate must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM ET, with at least three days in-office and additional hours as needed.
