Job summary

Adventist Rehabilitation - Rockville, part of Adventist HealthCare, is hiring an Infection Preventionist to strengthen our Quality and Patient Safety program in Rockville, MD. You will support surveillance, investigations, education, and database management to prevent infections and enhance patient care.

The role offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus, a 40-hour workweek, day shifts, and collaboration with Occupational Health and hospital leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA, TJC, and CDC guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required.
• 10+ years direct infection control experience; rehab setting preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA, TJC, CDC guidelines and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveillance and outbreak investigations as indicated.
• Provide input into education on infection prevention and isolation/precautions.
• Design and support day-to-day operations of the infection prevention program.
• Investigate significant infection problems with Occupational Health collaboration.
• Report communicable diseases to units as required.
• Maintain infection prevention databases in a timely fashion.
• Represent infection prevention at entity/system-wide forums.
