Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL seeks an Infection Preventionist to guide IPC strategies across the network. The IP applies certification knowledge to lead program development, monitoring and continuous improvement of infection prevention practices.

You will collaborate with care teams, mentor other IPs, conduct surveillance, analyze findings, and create education programs to meet diverse learning needs. Primary location: Beaches - Main Building.

Qualifications

• Certification in Infection Prevention (CIP) or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of IPC concepts and epidemiology.
• Proven leadership and mentorship abilities in healthcare.
• Ability to develop and deliver education programs for varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to develop, implement and sustain IPC strategies.

Infection Preventionist (IP)

The IP demonstrates knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) through certification and applies their knowledge and experience to guide practice while learning more advanced concepts.

• The IP is responsible for collaborating to develop, implement and sustain effective IPC strategies
• Leadership: Implements and monitors IPC program and practices
• Collaborates to align IPC program goals with organizational goals
• Provides mentorship to IPs and seeks mentorship from experienced IPs
• Infection Prevention & Control Operations: Applies epidemiologic principles and uses appropriate benchmarks
• Evaluates the significance of surveillance and investigational findings to make recommendations for improvement
• Evaluates the effectiveness of surveillance plans and modifies as necessary
• Creates education program(s) to meet the needs and learning styles of the audience
• Conducts IPC assessments and/or rounding and communicates findings and recommendations
