Job summary

T&M Associates is seeking a highly skilled Water Engineer to lead wastewater treatment and hydraulic design projects in New Jersey. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, industrial wastewater characterization, and process optimization, working closely with clients and technical teams.

Requirements include a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree from ABET-accredited program, PE license, 8+ years of water/wastewater experience, and strong communication skills with client coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in water/wastewater with industrial wastewater treatment expertise.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong collaboration and client coordination experience; willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Perform wastewater characterizations based on industrial practices and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and evaluate improvements in treatment processes and equipment to enhance performance.
• Conduct wastewater treatment process calculations and assist in process modeling to size and configure treatment processes.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and develop system head curves for pumping design.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for projects to ensure economic feasibility.
• Design layouts and specifications for treatment system improvements in collaboration with experts and other disciplines.
• Evaluate regulatory requirements and prepare permit applications as needed.
• Assist in construction-related activities including reviewing submittals and RFIs, tracking progress, and advising on discrepancies.
