Job summary

Seneca Resources Company, LLC is seeking a Senior Structural Designer in Birmingham, AL to lead conceptualization, development, and management of detailed plans for industrial structures. You will collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs comply with codes and client standards while guiding material estimates and scheduling.

This role includes fieldwork, site visits, and construction support in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in structural design for industrial projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with Autodesk Revit strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural detailing for steel and concrete structures, including ability to create steel and concrete drawings.
• Experience managing structural engineering teams on projects of various sizes.
• Ability to interpret structural calculations, vendor drawings, and fabrication submittals.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to visit job sites.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; knowledge of RISA and STAAD software advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, develop, and manage detailed plans, layouts, and specifications for industrial structures.
• Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet local codes, client standards, and best engineering practices.
• Provide construction support, field visits, and document project progress to ensure on-time delivery within budget.
