About the Role:

Crow Engineering Inc is looking for an experienced and driven Senior Industrial Manufacturing & Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Beaverton, OR. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project manager to run impactful industrial projects from conception to completion. This person will be the go-to contact for day-to-day communications with clients from various manufacturing industries. If you thrive in a fast-paced, independent environment where you are the person responsible for delivering on all aspects of complex projects, and you love the challenge of delivering results, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and quality standards
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication
A successful Senior Project Manager:
  • Can operate independently inside the guardrails and processes of Crow Engineering; doesn't require constant supervision or hand holding.
  • Has the ability to hold conversations with people ranging from equipment operators to maintenance managers, Plant Managers and company leadership. Can understand issues, and provide solutions in a way that is relatable to the person you are talking to (maintenance manager will care more about HOW it works, than how much it may cost; PM is going to want to know cost and production impact, CFO wants to understand the costs, etc.)
  • Must be a direct communicator, able to have uncomfortable conversations with clients, vendors and our own internal teams. Say what is wrong, and how it can be fixed.
  • Must be able to evaluate a process or piece of equipment, understand it, identify weak points/problems and come up with solutions.
  • Must have understanding and hands on experience in construction, production outages for capital projects and all the steps to go from drawings on paper, to an operating machine center.
  • Has financial understanding; capital estimating experience, can track purchases against a budget, identifying potential overruns and flagging them to clients/internal team.
  • Is open to travel; initially with other Senior PM's but eventually on your own or with our sales rep. Will be the face of Crow from the very first meeting, and is expected to maintain a lasting relationship with clients.
  • Has full project ownership and catches risks early. If the risk is internal, bring it up to leadership along with solutions/recommendations. If the risk is client side, engage directly with the client: discuss the issue, what snowball affects are possible, and what we can do to right the ship. Don't just identify a problem, offer solutions.
  • Is able to see the bigger picture; a project may be in one area but a Senior PM needs to understand how that plays into the overall facility process down and upstream.
  • Is able to evaluate solutions and make decisions based on how easy it will be to:
    • Fabricate
    • Operate
    • Be Maintained
  • Has the ability to lead others
  • Gains the trust of coworkers and clients due to work ethic, experience and knowledge, not because of a title
  • Stays calm under pressure, is able to have an uncomfortable conversation or make a tough call
  • Is accountable, and holds others (even leadership) accountable, doesn't dance around a point that needs to be made; just says it.
  • Is proactive, doesn't wait for leadership to tell you what to do
  • Operates independently
  • Isn't afraid to make a mistake, they just learns from it
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of industrial manufacturing, engineering, design-build or industrial construction
  • Employed as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Construction Manager, or Capital Projects Manager preferred, perhaps a lessor role if hands-on and you have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Experience building and owning budgets (both internal estimation and total project costs)
  • Proven ability to manage timelines, scope creep, change orders, and having difficult client conversations which are positive and productive
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Ability to work Independently and with a team. Know when to elevate issues internally.
  • Experience with compliance, permitting, and regulatory requirements
