Job summary

Reading Alloys LLC in Berks County, PA, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain plant equipment, buildings and related property in full compliance with safety and quality standards.

You will manage preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, document activities, and coordinate with management to minimize downtime while using hand and power tools, forklift and crane operations when needed.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 5 years maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Skilled with common hand and power tools.
• Experience with 480v/3 phase electrical power distribution.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes.
• Within 14 days from date of hire must pass tow motor operation and hi-reach operation certifications.
• Must be able to work at heights.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Pipe installation experience desired.
• Overhead crane experience preferred.
• Hydraulic/pneumatic/water distribution system experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and perform routine maintenance on equipment, property and buildings.
• Complete daily scheduled inspections and take corrective action up to restriction or removal of equipment or property.
• Identify and diagnose problems and complete required repairs meeting Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
• Maintain inspection, repair and maintenance schedules, logs and records and coordinate with management to minimize disruption to operations.
• Properly store and maintain tools and requisition new tools for approval.
• Develop a self-improvement program through courses, seminars and readings.
