Job summary

Kohl's in Ohio seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician to coordinate repairs and perform equipment and facility maintenance in a cost‑effective manner. Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing conveyors, HVAC systems, air compressors, and related equipment, plus parts administration and inventory control.

Coordinate with supervisors for preventive maintenance, train associates, and provide back‑up for management when needed.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment.
• Compliance with all MSDS standards and lock-out/tag procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must provide own basic set of tools and keep the work area neat and clean.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and repair of conveyor systems and equipment.
• Routine maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, conveyors and handling equipment.
• Inspect and repair of fire protection equipment.
• Parts administration and inventory upkeep.
• Plan for future preventive maintenance with supervisors.
• Collaborate with managers to address mechanical opportunities for productivity.
• Provide back-up for department managers when needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and reports.
• Provide on-the-job training to associates.
• Perform minor electrical/plumbing work, painting, and furniture moves.
• Maintain heating/air conditioning units and lighting.
• Assist outside contractors as needed.
• Respond promptly to jams or maintenance issues.

Shifts

• Monday-Thursday 2pm-12am
• Monday-Thursday 10pm-8am
• Friday-Sunday 6pm-6am

About the Role

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will efficiently coordinate and implement repairs and perform equipment and facility maintenance in a cost-effective manner.

What You'll Do

• Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment
• Routine inspection, preventative maintenance and maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, cardboard conveyors and power and material handling equipment
• Perform inspection and repair of fire protection equipment
• Parts administration
• Meet with department supervisor and/or manager to anticipate and plan for future preventive maintenance
• Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to address mechanical opportunities while ensuring optimum processing productivity
• Provide back-up for department Assistant Manager and/or Manager when absent
• Compile and maintain accurate inventory records and reports
• Provide on-the-job (OJT) training to Associates
• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves
• Perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility
• Assist outside contractors to perform various duties
• Promptly answer calls for jams, malfunctions or other maintenance-related issues
