Job summary

Kohl's is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to lead repairs and perform routine facility maintenance in a cost‑effective way. You will inspect conveyors and equipment daily, service air systems, maintain fire protection, and keep accurate inventory records in a warehouse or store setting.

You will coordinate with supervisors to anticipate future maintenance needs, support productivity, and mentor associates. Some electrical/plumbing tasks and light remodeling are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment.
• Compliance with MSDS standards and lock-out/tag procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Provide own basic set of tools and keep the work area neat and clean.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and repair of conveyor systems and equipment.
• Routine inspection and maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, cardboard conveyors and power handling equipment.
• Inspect and repair fire protection equipment.
• Maintain inventory records and reports.
• Meet with supervisor to plan future preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with managers to address mechanical opportunities and optimize productivity.
• Provide back-up for department leadership when absent.
• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office moves.
• Maintain heating and air conditioning units.
• Maintain facility lighting.
• Assist outside contractors as needed.
• Respond promptly to jams, malfunctions or other maintenance issues.

• Monday-Thursday 10pm-8am
• Friday-Sunday 6pm-6am

About the Role

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will efficiently coordinate and implement repairs and perform equipment and facility maintenance in a cost-effective manner.

What You'll Do

• Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment
• Routine inspection, preventative maintenance and maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, cardboard conveyors and power and material handling equipment
• Perform inspection and repair of fire protection equipment
• Parts administration
• Meet with department supervisor and/or manager to anticipate and plan for future preventive maintenance
• Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to address mechanical opportunities while ensuring optimum processing productivity
• Provide back-up for department Assistant Manager and/or Manager when absent
• Compile and maintain accurate inventory records and reports
• Provide on-the-job (OJT) training to Associates
• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves
• Perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility
• Assist outside contractors to perform various duties
• Promptly answer calls for jams, malfunctions or other maintenance-related issues
