Job summary

Kohl's is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to coordinate and perform repairs and maintenance across our facility. You will inspect and service conveyor systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection equipment, while maintaining inventory records and providing OJT to associates.

You will collaborate with department managers to ensure productivity, back-up leadership when needed, and support external contractors to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Own basic set of tools and keep work area neat.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and repair of conveyor systems and equipment.
• Routine inspection and maintenance of air compressors, bailers and power handling equipment.
• Inspect and repair fire protection equipment.
• Parts administration and inventory control.
• Coordinate with supervisors to plan preventive maintenance.
• Work with managers to address opportunities and maintain productivity.
• Provide back-up for department management when needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and reports.
• On-the-job training for Associates.
• Perform minor electrical/plumbing repairs and painting.
• Maintain heating/AC units and facility lighting.
• Support external contractors and respond to jams or malfunctions.

• Monday-Thursday 2pm-12am
• Monday-Thursday 10pm-8am
• Friday-Sunday 6pm-6am

About the Role

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will efficiently coordinate and implement repairs and perform equipment and facility maintenance in a cost-effective manner.

What You'll Do

• Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment
• Routine inspection, preventative maintenance and maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, cardboard conveyors and power and material handling equipment
• Perform inspection and repair of fire protection equipment
• Parts administration
• Meet with department supervisor and/or manager to anticipate and plan for future preventive maintenance
• Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to address mechanical opportunities while ensuring optimum processing productivity
• Provide back-up for department Assistant Manager and/or Manager when absent
• Compile and maintain accurate inventory records and reports
• Provide on-the-job (OJT) training to Associates
• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves
• Perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility
• Assist outside contractors to perform various duties
• Promptly answer calls for jams, malfunctions or other maintenance-related issues

What Skills You Have

Required

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment
• Compliance with all MSDS standards and lock-out/tag procedures
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must provide own basic set of tools and keep the work area neat and clean
