Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to perform maintenance on advanced electrical and mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment in Bolingbrook, IL. The role involves diagnosing issues, installing and maintaining processes, and training others to uphold productivity and safety.

The position requires reading drawings, using hand and power tools, and following complex instructions, with a focus on independent work and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience using small hand and power tools.
• Possesses basic computer skills.
• Able to read and work from construction, mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Has basic construction skills in light metal fabrication, carpentry and plumbing.
• Capable of installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of manual and automated machinery independently.
• Ability to read and follow complex equipment operating instructions.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Must understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and install a wide variety of complex electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Work on process controls and/or electronic controls.
• Work independently on secondary distribution systems, house wiring and three phase industrial power.
• Perform general maintenance on machines, conveyors and structural material; including welding.
• Perform general layout and construction activities requiring advanced metal fabrication, carpentry and plumbing skills.
• Communicate status of repairs and/or expected down times to Management and Supervisors as needed.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule with Supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment and conserve resources.
• Train others in maintenance tasks as needed.
• Inspect all work prior to passing it to the next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
