Job summary

Dunaway seeks an experienced mechanical design engineer to join our extrusion-solutions team. You will develop 3D models of extrusion presses and material handling systems, and produce 2D drawings to support field builds and upgrades.

You will collaborate with field services, support proposals with scope and cost estimates, and travel 10–15% for on-site assessments and installations. A BS in engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in industrial machine/equipment design.
• Experience scheduling jobs through a shop to engage machinists.
• 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Hydraulics know-how for new designs and field troubleshooting.
• Applied FEA experience with mainstream tools.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and components.

Do you turn SolidWorks models into real machines? Can you read FEA outputs and make fast, confident design decisions? Have you led designs for extrusion presses, billet loaders, and complex handling systems? If so, Dunaway wants you as the go-to engineer who reports directly to our President/Owner.

Your impact

• Applied FEA experience with mainstream analysis tools.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and components.

Nice-to-haves

• Direct experience in aluminum extrusion (design and troubleshooting).
• SolidWorks plus CAM workflow experience.
• 3+ years focused on aluminum extrusion presses and related equipment: billet loaders, stems, containers, tie rods, etc.
• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
