Job summary

Dunaway seeks an experienced mechanical design engineer to join our extrusion-solutions team. You will develop 3D models of extrusion presses and material handling systems, and produce 2D drawings to support field builds and upgrades.

You will collaborate with field services, support proposals with scope and cost estimates, and travel 10–15% for on-site assessments and installations. A BS in engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

10+ years in industrial machine/equipment design.
Experience scheduling jobs through a shop to engage machinists.
2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Hydraulics know-how for new designs and field troubleshooting.
Applied FEA experience with mainstream tools.
Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and components.

Responsibilities

Architect and model complete extrusion presses and material handling systems in 3D.
Deconstruct legacy equipment to repair, enhance, and modernize performance.
Collaborate with field services to troubleshoot and restore uptime.
Plan and manage relocation and installation of presses, lines, and billet heaters.
Contribute to proposals by assisting with scope and cost estimates.
Travel 10%–15%, varying with workload, for on-site assessments and installs.
