Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Layout and Ergonomics Specialist to optimize our factory layouts, improve material flow, and design ergonomic workstations. You will analyze current layouts, implement optimized facilities, and lead ergonomic initiatives across the East London manufacturing site.

The role requires a strong industrial engineering background, 6+ years in layout design and ergonomics, and experience with AutoCAD and simulation tools.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on ergonomics or human factors.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in industrial engineering, with expertise in facility layout design, material flow optimization, and ergonomics.

About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer of consumer goods in East London, is seeking a Senior Industrial Layout and Ergonomics Specialist. This role is critical for optimizing our factory's physical layout, workflow, and workstation design to enhance operational efficiency, employee safety, and overall productivity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial engineering, with specialized knowledge in facility layout design, material flow optimization, and human factors/ergonomics. You will be responsible for analyzing existing layouts, proposing innovative solutions, and overseeing the implementation of changes to create a more efficient and worker-friendly environment. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current factory layouts, material flow, and production processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop optimized facility layouts using CAD software and simulation tools to enhance workflow, reduce travel time, and minimize bottlenecks.
• Design and implement ergonomic solutions for workstations, equipment, and processes to improve worker comfort, safety, and reduce the risk of injuries.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and risk analyses of tasks and work environments.
• Develop and implement ergonomic training programs for employees and management.
• Ensure that all layout and ergonomic designs comply with relevant safety regulations, industry best practices, and company policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams during the design and installation phases of new equipment and production lines to ensure optimal layout and ergonomics.
• Lead projects related to facility upgrades, reconfigurations, and the implementation of new production systems.
• Stay abreast of advancements in facility design, material handling systems, and ergonomic principles.
• Create detailed reports, presentations, and documentation related to layout design and ergonomic assessments.
• Champion a culture of safety and efficiency through proactive ergonomic and layout considerations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on ergonomics or human factors.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering, with specific expertise in facility layout design, material flow optimization, and ergonomics.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for layout design and space planning.
• Experience with simulation software for modeling material flow and operational efficiency is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of human factors, biomechanics, and occupational safety principles.
• Proven ability to conduct ergonomic assessments and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
