Job summary

Penumbra, Inc. in Alameda, CA, seeks a Senior Industrial Engineer to optimize production processes, cut waste, and boost productivity, quality, and efficiency through Lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production, and cross-functional teams to plan and drive improvements, using data-driven analyses and standard work practices to achieve measurable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years in medical device or related industry
• Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industry desired
• 4+ years CI experience in a medical device industry role desired
• Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and clean room practice
• Ability to design, analyze and implement industrial engineering techniques
• Creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills required
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project), AutoCAD, and SAP
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with ability to multitask and establish priorities

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities with Continuous Improvement tools to reduce costs and optimize resources
• Guide team to improve operational efficiency by establishing Flow and standard work
• Lead Lean projects to boost productivity and reduce lead time
• Review schedules, specs, processes, and work instructions to understand methods
• Conduct Time Study Analysis to identify Value/Non-Value activities
• Analyze base operations and develop prioritized improvement plans
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and R&D to identify improvements
• Develop detailed work plans and strategies with cross functional teams
• Ensure safety and compliance with QMS and regulations
