Job summary

Insteel Industries is seeking an Electronics Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on industrial machinery. The role supports maintenance personnel and aims to reduce risk in line with ALARA principles.

Responsibilities include diagnosing PLCs, drives, motors, and equipment; creating electrical drawings; planning controls layouts; and providing technical training. 6+ years experience preferred; Florida location in Jacksonville area.

Qualifications

• Broad technical training (high school + 1–3 years apprenticeship/applied trades training)
• 2-year degree preferred
• Working knowledge of AC and DC drives
• Knowledge of control PLC logic
• Computer skills, including Windows 11

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to Maintenance Department on electrical/electronic matters.
• Directs, tests and diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as Programmable Logic Controller programs, DC drives, AC drives, motors.
• Creates and maintains electrical drawings and schematics.
• Plans layout and functions of controls, wiring, plumbing, systems, and power distribution.
• Maintains proper logs and records on all equipment.
• Routinely schedules and provides training to electrical personnel.
