Job summary

RF MacDonald Co. is seeking a Boiler Service Technician Level 3.0 to troubleshoot industrial and commercial boilers and burner/control systems, including ancillary equipment.

The role involves inspecting boilers, burners and associated controls to ensure functionality and service life, with travel to customer sites as needed. Candidates should have 1–7 years of experience, strong problem solving and communication skills, and the ability to work in a team.

Qualifications

• 1–7 years of experience troubleshooting and servicing boilers from light commercial to industrial applications.
• Hands-on combustion set up and burner troubleshooting for 0.5–30 million BTU/hr input.
• Experience with low emission burners is a plus but not required.
• Must have good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect boilers, burners, and controls; determine function and service life.
• Repair or replace refractory, gaskets, parts, and miscellaneous controls.
• Perform hydrostatic testing and troubleshoot/repair industrial burners.
• Evaluate boiler room systems (steam and hydronic) and assist problem solving.
• Understand hot water and steam boiler support equipment (deaerators, feed, blow down, economizers).
• Calibrate instruments and controls using modern calibration tools.
