Job summary

SAI Systems, a Metro Detroit-based staffing firm founded in 2008, seeks a highly motivated Project Engineer with a strong industrial automation background. You will lead projects from concept through commissioning, serving as the primary customer liaison and bridging technical execution with project management.

Ideal candidate brings 10+ years of automation experience, strong communication skills, and ability to travel for site activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
10+ years in industrial automation, controls or project engineering.
Experience managing schedules, budgets and deliverables.

Responsibilities

Manage full project lifecycle including scope, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and closeout.
Serve as primary customer liaison with meetings and updates.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, change orders, and docs.
Oversee design, integration, and commissioning of automation systems.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and field service teams.
Identify and resolve technical issues during design, install, startup.
Site visits and on-site commissioning support.
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and customer specs.
